Registration Information

Welcome to Richard McKenna Charter Schools! We’re happy to have you here and look forward to meeting you. Whether you’re new to the area or have a child ready for kindergarten, you’ll need to complete the registration process.

Our schools enroll students every spring based on an annual lottery of applicants. Please be advised that all kindergarteners must be five years old on or before September 1 to apply.

Lottery Information

As a public charter school in the state of Idaho, if the number of annual applications to attend our schools exceeds capacity, we must determine enrollment via a lottery. We may give enrollment preference to students who are already in attendance in one of our schools, or siblings of said students. We may also give preference to children of our employees, provided those students do not exceed 10% of our total enrollment. We place all students not chosen by the lottery process on a waiting list to be admitted as space becomes available. However, Idaho state code requires our waiting list be redrawn every year. If you would like your child to remain on our waiting list, please complete a new application prior to our annual lottery.

We make lottery applications available during each application window on this page or in printed form in our high school office. Applicants must hand deliver the completed applications by the last Friday in February to be considered in our lottery. We hold our annual lottery during the first week of March. Returning students must complete a lottery application to hold their seat in our programs for the upcoming year.

We reserve the right to revoke enrollment at any time due to poor attendance, noncompliance with school rules, and misrepresentation or falsification of information.
