Local Attractions

Looking for some fun, family-friendly activities? Look no further.

Anderson Ranch Reservoir
Less than 20 miles away on the south fork of the Boise River sits Anderson Ranch Reservoir, a perfect place for family camping, water sports, and fishing.

Bruneau Dunes State Park
Love surfing? We may not have an ocean, but you can still surf in Bruneau Dunes State Park. These freestanding sand dunes, located 25 minutes from Mountain Home, offer a variety of activities including hiking, sand boarding, fishing, and star gazing at the Bruneau Dunes Observatory.

Glenns Ferry
This famous river crossing on the Oregon Trail is less than 30 miles outside town. Before the ferry was built in 1869, pioneers used three islands in the middle of Snake River to cross and continue on their journey. Today, this area boasts campsites, excellent fishing, and living history demonstrations throughout summer.

Optimist Park
This 40-acre park is home to our local BMX track and arena. It’s open during daylight hours.

Trinity Mountains
Enjoy backcountry trails in our pristine portion of the Boise Mountains just north of Highway 20, near Anderson Ranch Reservoir. These 380+ miles of well-marked trails are perfect for snowmobiling, hiking, and biking.
