Why Online Education?

We’re seeing the first generation of digital-native students matriculate into our high schools. These students have grown up technically literate. They’ve never known a world without the internet or smartphones, and as a result, have learned to process massive amounts of information without the traditional barriers of location and cost.

Often, these students struggle in a traditional classroom. Constant distractions and ambiguous use of time derail their success. Online learning is the answer. Students move through the curriculum at their own pace, without sacrificing teacher guidance or help. At RMC, our online teachers are available during posted office hours via phone, email, or video conferencing.

Registration Requirements

Our online program is only available for students under the age of 21 who have completed the eighth grade and are ready for high school study. Students may not be enrolled in another public school and must reside in the state of Idaho to register. They should also have successfully completed pre-algebra A and B courses with semester grades of at least a “C.”

Technical Requirements

For the best experience from our platform, students must provide a personal computer (not a smartphone or tablet) and a reliable internet connection. Computers must meet the following requirements:

Peripheral recommendations include using a minimum 13” screen, access to a printer, a work environment with a desk, a separate keyboard and mouse, and a monitor set 2” above eye level. Learn more in our student handbook.
