If you child must miss school, please call the school office your child attends on the day of his/her absence. What if my child will be tardy or needs to leave school early?

Tardies and early dismissals count as hour-long absences at RMC. A parent or guardian must sign their child in or out and pick up students at the front office. Students with a valid driving license who can drive themselves may leave campus with prior written permission from a parent/guardian and approval from the principal.

Is there a dress code at Richard McKenna Charter?

We expect our students to dress and groom in an appropriate manner at all times. Student dress and grooming may not present a safety hazard or present a potential disruption of the educational process. To that end, we have instituted a school uniform and grooming policy. Uniforms must be clean and remain in good condition at all times (no holes, stains, etc.), and include:

  • RMC branded, navy polo (available in the school office)
  • Khaki slacks (available at D & B Supply)
  • Dark blue jeans without holes, rips, or fading
  • Closed-toe shoes
  • White or gray long-sleeve Ts to be worn under our RMC branded polo during cold weather

Optional branded clothing available for order:

  • RMC embroidered sweatshirt
  • RMC branded hoodie

Students must remove and store all outerwear during class time. We do not allow hats or head coverings in the building except by religious mandate.

Beyond basic hygiene practices, we students should:

  • Not wear chains or body piercings
  • Limit earrings to two per lobe; gauge openings filled with clear plugs
  • Wear only natural-looking makeup and hair
  • Keep fingernails trimmed, clean, and in conservative colors
  • Not wear perfume or cologne out of difference to our allergic students

Will my child have access to the internet while on campus?

Students can access the internet for school-related research under the supervision of qualified school personnel. We require all students to abide by the RMC Acceptable Use Policy. Students are responsible for their behavior on school computer networks.

Can my high school student drive to and from school?
