What is the cost?
Richard McKenna Charter High School is a public school funded by state tax dollars. We do require a course material deposit which is refunded once the materials are returned undamaged.

Richard McKenna Charter High School is accredited by the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools and by the Idaho State Department of Education.

Do you provide computers?
No.
Students must have their own computer, printer, and an internet connection.

What are your technical requirements?
Students must have the following:

  • Internet connection (preferably high speed cable modem or DSL connection)

Does the student have to be on the computer at a certain time?
No.
Students may work on their assignments at any time, day or night; however, teachers are not available at all hours, day and night. Students must contact their teachers during the teachers' office hours if they wish to speak with them.
Students may email their teachers using our school email at any time. Teachers will grade assignments within 48 hours after receiving them or will communicate with the student if there is a delay.

How many credits do you require for a diploma?
We require 42 credit hours for high school graduation.

How do I register?
You may register by going to our home page and clicking on Registration.

How long may I attend school?
Students may take our online courses until they turn 21.

Does the student have to be at-risk to apply for online courses?
No.
Any student who is not attending other schools full time, and whose parents are Idaho residents, may enroll in our online courses.
