Course Description

    English 10A will focus on the art of rhetoric and reading, writing, speaking and listening. Students will learn about the history of Greek drama as they study Sophocles’ famed play Antigone. Students will learn about the art of persuasive speaking, as well as how to write an I-Search paper using MLA format. Grammar and vocabulary lessons will be part of each week’s requirements.

Course Description

    English 10B will focus on two very important texts: Shakespeare’s outstanding tragedy Hamlet and William Golding’s acclaimed novel Lord of the Flies. Both units will focus on the role of individual conscience and the potential for corruption. Student’s will write critically and creatively and continue to study grammar and vocabulary.

Course Description

    English 12 B continues the focus of English 12 A on World Literature and Lifetime Literacy (language needed as an adult). It also examines the relationship between literacy skills and citizenship in a free society.

Among the things we'll study in English 12 B:
